About ME
I am Chrysta Nichols, a multimedia journalist, digital strategist, and aspiring media and intellectual property lawyer dedicated to empowering underrepresented communities.
With a background in multimedia journalism and marketing from North Carolina A&T State University, I’ve led initiatives, orchestrated organizations, etc to amplify diverse voices and drive meaningful change through media and advocacy.
My passion lies at the intersection of media, business, and law, where I aim to protect and elevate the work of diverse creators through strategic storytelling and advocacy. I’ve cultivated skills in content creation, marketing strategy, and leadership, preparing me to navigate the evolving media and entertainment landscape.
My ultimate goal is to create a lasting impact through equitable opportunities, representation, and innovation in media and law.

Media and Marketing Research
Classes, Externships, Nanodegree
Through externships, coursework, and a completed nanodegree in Digital Marketing, I have conducted research on diverse topics, including the legal framework surrounding the portrayal of minorities in media and the various methods students use to secure internships. These experiences have expanded my research skills through both primary and secondary methodologies. Additionally, I deepened my knowledge of digital marketing by working on projects focused on SEO, marketing technology, advertising, and more.

This platform is dedicated to amplifying, advocating for, and spreading awareness to underrepresented voices and communities to Black Gen Z. Through podcasting and storytelling, I create posts and interview businesses, non-profits, and leaders, listening to their stories and ensuring they resonate with a broader audience. I’ve been able to interview the founder of Black Girls Vote, the founder of the Greensboro chapter of Sisters Network, founder of Naija Comm which has been recognized by Forbes and other organizations and businesses.

Scholarship
In Spring 2024, I received the Spotify NextGen Scholarship, valued at $10,000, in recognition of my achievements in audio media. The article highlights my journey and outlines my commitment to continuing to advocate for African Americans in media and amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups.

"Shades of Strength"
For my photojournalism project, i took pictures that symblozed Exploring the beauty of dark skin while challenging and dispelling misconceptions surrounding it.
This topic is a deeply personal journey for me as a dark-skinned woman who has grappled with societal pressures and self-acceptance throughout my life. By doing this,I aim to not only validate my own experiences but also provide a platform for others who have faced similar struggles to find solace and empowerment.
